Latest figures show drop in fatal accidents in experimental aircraft

While the final totals are still being tabulated, the initial total of 37 accidents is well below the FAA’s not-to-exceed figure of 46 for the period, according to officials with the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). That includes 29 fatal accidents in homebuilt aircraft.

Air Safety Institute releases early analysis of SR22 crash

On Sept. 28, 2024, a Cirrus SR22 crashed at First Flight Airport (KFFA) near the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Sadly, the aircraft’s pilot and all four passengers perished in the accident.
