MT-Propeller has received STCs from the FAA, EASA, and TCAA Canada for the installation of its scimitar 3-blade propeller on Cirrus SR20s powered by Lycoming IO-390-C3B6 engines.
According to MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht, the installation features:
- Enhanced climb by approximately 3%
- Approximately 18 pounds less weight than the original propellers
- Vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration-free propeller operations
- Bonded on nickel alloy leading edge for erosion protection of the blades
- Unlimited blade life
- FOD repairable blades
This installation is also certified in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and New Zealand, according to officials with the German company.
