A new book, “Smuggler’s Flight,” tells the story of Chuck Stewart’s aviation adventures.
Set to publish March 17, 2026, Smuggler’s Flight is a first-hand account of Stewart’s flights crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in twin-engine aircraft, slipping into remote Mexican airstrips on missions few pilots would attempt, according to officials with publisher Octane Press.
Readers will experience Stewart’s narrow escapes, tense encounters with armed authorities, engines failing miles from help, plus smuggling and supply missions so precarious others couldn’t — or wouldn’t — touch them, Octane Press officials noted.

Stewart passed away before the book’s publication, but his children completed the project to share the story of a pilot who saw himself as a “white hat smuggler” operating by a personal moral code.
“Our dad passed in 2023 before he was able to get this book published. It was his dream to share his adventures with the masses and we wanted to honor that. We hope you enjoy the read,” said Stewart’s children.
