Avwxworkshops has launched the Daily EZ Weather Brief live stream broadcast on YouTube each weekday morning.
“This live broadcast was created to fill a significant void in the quest for a national level general aviation-targeted weather overview like the early morning a.m. weather news program that ran from 1978 to 1995 on PBS member stations throughout the United States,” said Dr. Scott Dennstaedt, who created the daily weather brief.
“The goal of the Daily EZ Weather Brief program is to provide general aviation pilots with a 10- to 15-minute synopsis of today’s aviation weather impacts across the conterminous U.S. and southern Canada using high-resolution weather guidance,” he explained.

If you cannot attend live, each broadcast will be recorded and posted to the YouTube channel shortly after the live broadcast ends. There’s no cost to watch the live broadcast or video recordings.

The program I was familiar with was called A.M. Weather and was offered through the Maryland Public Broadcasting System (PBS) with a grant through the FAA and syndicated on other PBS stations around the country. PBS did a program like this in the ‘70s called “Aviation Weather”. I was learning to fly back then and i watched as many show as possible. The show also did features on GA flying and how weather impacted it.
