French watchmaker YEMA will begin taking orders April 20, 2020, for its new YEMA Superman French Air Force collection.
The collection is limited to 1,948 pieces, according to officials with the watch company, which was founded in 1948.
The first YEMA French Air Force timepieces were designed in the 1970s to equip the Air Force diver rescuer team during helicopter-borne sea rescue missions. Later editions were also used by fighter pilots, company officials note.
The new collection was designed jointly with France’s Air Force. The watches are built to military personnel specifications, company officials add.
Available in a black PVD or Steel case, the Superman French Air Force is equipped with YEMA’s in-house caliber MBP1000 and features a matt black dial printed with “French Air Force” logo and the colored national insignia at 6 o’clock.
These two models are delivered in a French Air Force branded leather travel case and the official pilot watch canvas strap, in addition to the original steel bracelet.
Prices for the watches start at $999.
To honor all those who served in the French Air Force, YEMA will donate up to 12.5% of sales to the official French Veterans Foundation (FOSA).
