The general aviation community was saddened when Mike Patey’s Draco crashed while taking off from the airport in Reno in September. But that wasn’t the end of Draco.
According to a new video posted by Patey on Oct. 20, 2019, you have to “get back up, dust yourself off, and get back to work 💪🏻 …”
He promises that after a rest, Draco will return stronger than ever.
It’s always hard to go back from something that caused you heart ache h and pain esp. after doing every last detail on Draco. KUDOS and rock on for jumping back in. It’s part of the healing process to get Draco back up better than ever. Right on Mike

We Americans like success, a good story, a dream. Mike Patey came on the scene with an “Americanized” Cold War relic and morphed it into the fire breathing King of STOL just as this Rusty Pilot was getting back into flying after a long absence.
Not since the Top Gun movie debut in the 80’s did any singular event create more excitement in GA than Draco. Glad to see Mike rebuilding this icon. That’s what Americans do, we never give up and we do it better than anyone else. Go Mike P and Draco !
