Hilton Software introduced at SUN ‘n FUN its patent-pending WingX Non-Linear Warping Technology. This new technology enables its flagship product WingX Pro7 to geo-reference Departure Procedures (DPs) and Standard Terminal Arrival Procedures (STARs).Airport Diagrams and Instrument Approach Procedures are geo-referenced due to their linear nature, which means they are drawn to scale.
However, due to the distances involved, DPs and STARs are typically not drawn to scale. This image non-linearity prevents easily-applied linear interpolation and extrapolation techniques from being used.

Warping Technology solves this problem and brings a capability that before today was assumed to be impossible, according to company officials.

By adding geo-referencing to thousands of DPs and STARs, WingX Pro7 will significantly increase situational awareness particularly for our airline, military, and other IFR pilots.”
WingX Pro7 with Departure Procedure and Standard Terminal Arrival Geo-Referencing is planned to be available in the Apple App Store in the second quarter of 2016 and later in the year on WingX Pro7 for Android and WingX Pro7 for Fire.
There is no additional cost as this will be included in the Advanced IFR subscription.
Wing -X Pro is fantastic program …really top notch…in the iPad version.
We Android users pay the same as the iPad users but we don’t have anywhere near the functionality of the iPad version. It has been this way for over a year now. When will the Android version be updated to contain most if not all of the iPad version?
