EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — The Experimental Aircraft Association’s Fantasy Flight Camp returns Sept. 11-13, giving aviation enthusiasts the opportunity to discover more about and fly aboard two of EAA’s military AAC trainers — the Consolidated PT-3 (the only flying PT-3 in the world) and the North American T-6, also known as the “pilot-maker.”
During the fantasy flight camp weekend at the EAA Aviation Center in Oshkosh, Wisc., attendees will receive in-depth ground instruction on both aircraft, capped off by a 30- to 35-minute flight in the PT-3 and T-6. Each flight will begin with a session on the aircraft and its controls. EAA’s pilots and instructors will perform the takeoffs.
Once airborne, the pilots will demonstrate the aircraft’s operations while attendees get ready to take the controls. Participants will then be able to experience flying these historic aircraft.
The cost of the weekend experience is $1,500, which includes room and board, ground schools, instructional materials, and flight experiences.
