Sporty’s annual fly-in slated for May 16

By General Aviation News Staff · May 5, 2015 ·

Sporty’s Annual Fly-In will be held Saturday, May 16. Exhibits, seminars and display aircraft are all part of this annual event.

flyinhotdog“And, of course, we have our signature event — free lunch for all,” says Sporty’s President Michael Wolf. “All attendees will receive free hot dogs at lunch time.”

Everything else about the fly-in is free as well — aircraft and car parking, admission, seminars, and tours, Sporty’s officials said, noting, “once you arrive, the only money you’ll spend will be in Sporty’s retail store where special sales and one-day prices abound.”

Sporty’s flight instructors will be on hand to offer introductory flights through Sporty’s Academy. Aviation Exploring, Cincinnati Avionics and the University of Cincinnati Professional Pilot Training Program will be represented in the exhibit hall.

Seminars on ADS-B, iPad flying and other current topics are offered all day. In addition, seminars hosted by Foreflight, Garmin, Aspen Avionics, Bendix King and other manufacturers will be offered.

Did you win a new airplane?

At noon, the winner of Sporty’s 2015 Airplane Sweepstakes will be announced. This year, one lucky Sporty’s customer will win a Van’s RV-12.

“That’s the best phone call I make all year,” says Wolf. “Our fly-in guests and Sporty’s staff always enjoy hearing the mostly stunned reaction of the winner.”

Sporty’s 2015 Fly In will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
