RHINEBECK, N.Y. — On Saturday, May 17, the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome will once again open its doors to the museum.
This year opening weekend will be extra special with the addition of a scale, radio-control model airplane fly-in event that will feature giant-scale models of vintage aircraft.
Visitors are welcome to witness model flying both days (weather permitting) with regular museum admission. Model flying will take place from opening to 5 p.m. For information about participating in the flying event, visit mhrcs.com.
The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome is a true “living” museum of antique aviation located in the historic town of Rhinebeck, New York. It presents one of the largest collections of early aeroplanes in the world, many of which take to the air for demonstrations during weekend airshows throughout the summer months.
The Aerodrome features more than 60 antique aeroplanes, vintage automobiles and related artifacts dating from 1900-1935, covering the Pioneer Era, World War I and the Lindbergh/Barnstorming era.
Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome’s museum and grounds will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
