My own misjudgments of my timing and distance, mistake in missing calls for other aircraft to have an idea of what is going on big picture (as I would have been able to recognize that I would essentially be following an aircraft in the right traffic pattern), and the PA-28’s over extension and drift on the departure leg contributed to this event.

A month at Ryan Field
Glenn Brasch spent a month at Montana’s Ryan Field as the camp host. While he was there, he took lots of photos of the airfield, pilots, campers, and a work party that is helping transform the field, which is owned by the Recreational Aviation Foundation.

Great vistas of green
There is an almost universally accepted belief that our world is over-developed. It’s excessively crowded. Steel and glass and concrete surround us everywhere we go. We’re hemmed in by our own construction projects. Cramped and confined to areas with heavy traffic, ceaseless noise, and crowds of strangers. Asphalt pathways lead us deeper into the chasm of our communities, yet make it nearly impossible for us to find our way out. Balderdash. Absolute rubbish. If perception is reality, then a realignment of our perceptions is in order.

First flights of the electric trainer, based on the already certified DA40, are expected in the second quarter of 2022.
Gas cap flies off during takeoff
Shortly after takeoff, I noticed that the pilot side fuel cap had departed from the airplane and fuel was coming out of the wing at a tremendous rate. Fearing a severe weight imbalance, I Identified as an emergency and returned to land without further incident or damage.
Master takeoffs and landings with free course
The free course includes 10 real-world lessons during five hours of online training from preflight preparation to proper maneuver execution. Pilots learn about stabilized approach, crosswinds and slips, short-field takeoff and landing, night operations, abnormal or emergency considerations, and more, according to company officials.
Only flying Kitty Hawk still has some of its nine lives left

Volunteers honored for public benefit flying
“The toughest times often bring out the best in people and it is hard to imagine a tougher time than a global pandemic,” said NAA President Greg Principato. “Those we honor today stepped up at a difficult time to help others who needed it. The aviation community has an amazing history of stepping up. I not only congratulate this year’s Public Benefit Flying awardees, I also thank them for all they’ve done and will do.”
