Textron donates $1 million to You Can Fly high school initiative

The donation will enable You Can Fly to introduce more high school students to career opportunities in aviation through the curriculum, which is offered free to schools, AOPA officials said.

Redbird app updated with new features

During the week of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2022, which began July 25 and runs through July 31, more than 17,000 planes will fly into Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH) in Wisconsin. Photographer Geremy Kornreich captured just a few of those planes at the beginning of the week.

Rather than taking on six figure debt to upscale into a bigger, more expensive house in an effort to impress the Joneses, wouldn’t we be better off to invest just a small fraction of that amount in ourselves?

Ever wonder what the tower at Oshkosh is like during the week of the show? Check out Fred Johnsen’s video, which chronicles the bustling radio communications as FAA controllers talk with pilots and each other to safely move huge numbers of airplanes through the airspace around Oshkosh. The familiar call from controllers to pilots: “Rock your wings” is an Oshkosh staple, allowing controllers to positively identify aircraft they are communicating with.
