Naples Aviation first U.S. FBO to receive ARGUS honor

ARGUS International has recognized Naples Aviation at Naples Municipal Airport (KAPF) in Florida as the first FBO in North America to receive the ARGUS Base Operations Audit Certification.

Preflight planning gets safety boost with FAA weather cams

The FAA provides more than 600 camera sites throughout the United States with 230 FAA sites in Alaska. Another estimated 360 cameras operate in North America as third-party systems, such as those installed by NAVCanada and the states of Colorado and Montana. The camera images are updated every 10 minutes to give pilots a view of the latest weather.

Signature expands FBO network with latest acquisition

Signature Aviation has acquired Meridian, which has FBO locations in Teterboro, New Jersey (KTEB) and Hayward, California (KHWD).

Young Eagles tops 57,000 flights in 2023

More than 57,000 youngsters had a Young Eagles flight in 2023. The flights were all made possible by 4,493 pilots from 616 different EAA chapters.

Tailwheel scholarship offered for fourth year

The scholarship will award $1,000 in cash and $1,000 in credit towards flight training towards a tailwheel endorsement to one female pilot. Training will take place at Quad Cities International Airport (KMLI) in Moline, Illinois, in a 1946 Piper J-3 Cub.

Dr. Ron Bingham’s hangar at at McKeller-Sipes Regional Airport (KMKL) in Jackson, Tennessee, has a 70-foot by 16-foot Schweiss Doors hydraulic door equipped with remote openers. He keeps a CJ1 and a Cirrus SR22 in the new hangar.

FAA to study air traffic controller fatigue

New flight academy in works at KEFD

The Houston City Council unanimously approved Houston Airports to use $5.5 million from its Airport Improvement Fund to build the Texas Southern University Flight Academy at Ellington Airport (KEFD).
