Defying the odds

The International Women’s Air & Space Museum’s first-ever virtual exhibit, “Defying the Odds: Exploring the Impact of Women and Aviation in the First Half of the 20th Century,” shines a light on lesser known pioneers and trailblazing women, according to officials with the museum, which is located inside the Burke Lakefront Airport (KBKL) terminal building in Cleveland, Ohio.

Fargo Air Museum launches flight simulator lab

Featuring two sets of controls, a yoke and joystick, with the option of virtual reality, pilots and aspiring aviators will be able to take to the sky virtually anywhere in the world. Individuals are able to choose from more than 30 aircraft to fly. Flights can be adjusted to depart and land in various destinations all while the user experiences real-time weather and air traffic conditions.

Oklahoma flying club offers private pilot scholarship

New hangar complex coming to San Carlos Airport

The hangars are named for female aviators “to honor Zelda Levin as the matriarch of the family (that owned the property), and until she recently passed, was the oldest living resident of San Mateo County,” said Douglas Wilson of FBO Partners, as leasing agent for Skyway Center. The property that Skyway Center will sit upon is now part of the Levin Trust.

Yingling Aviation celebrates 75 years by expanding at KICT

The company added another 50,000 square feet of hangar and office space to the 200,000 square feet of facilities for its Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) business and FBO at at Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (KICT) in Wichita, Kansas. It recently acquired three additional hangars adjacent to the east runway (01/19) and in close proximity to its existing space, according to company officials.

uAvionix receives patent for tailBeaconX transponder

U.S. Patent 11,011,830, “Wireless Communication System within an External Enclosure for Attachment to a Vehicle,” provides the ability to leverage the wing and tail locations of a general aviation aircraft for the installation of a transponder to gain optimal performance from both ground and space-based infrastructure, according to company officials.
