FAA To Invest $26 Million to Bolster Aviation Workforce

Available grants include Aircraft Pilots Workforce Development Grants, which fund efforts to educate and recruit students to become aircraft pilots or drone operators, and Aviation Maintenance Technical Workers Workforce Development Grants, which support initiatives focused on educating and recruiting future aviation mechanics and maintenance technicians.

The AEA petitioned the FAA to recognize the CAET certification as an acceptable means of compliance to the formal education option as listed in Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) section 65.101(a)(5)(ii).

New FAA Website Clarifies MOSAIC Policy on Repairman Certificates

According to officials with the Experimental Aircraft Association, the section on light-sport repairmen is of particular interest to the general aviation community, as the privileges of these certificates were expanded by MOSAIC (Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification). Under the new rules, holders of the Repairman Light Sport certificates can now also conduct condition inspections on experimental amateur-built (E-AB) aircraft in addition to light-sport aircraft.
