In defense of flight suits for general aviation pilots

There seems to be some subtle prejudice against flight suits in GA flying. Maybe some pilots don’t feel we’ve earned the right, not flying combat jets and all. Or maybe it’s something else. I’m not sure what it is, because, arguably, flight suits make sense for any kind of pilot.

Billed as the world’s most remote aviation event, the Greenland Air Trophy pits two teams of pilots — one from Europe and one from the Americas — as they compete in STOL and precision landing competitions after flying across the Atlantic Ocean. The teams will meet in Narsarsuaq, Greenland, June 25, for the competition.

Sporty’s puts out call for entries for Writing Prize for Young Pilots

To qualify, the writer must be a pilot (including student pilot) who is 24 or younger. The article must be original, not previously published, and no longer than 1,500 words. The topic should be “my most memorable flight.”

Unleaded fuels increase risk of misfueling

Addressing that risk early is the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), which has updated its Safety 1st General Aviation Misfueling Prevention Program, a free, online training resource for pilots, line service professionals, and others involved in aircraft refueling.
