Lincoln Benedict sent in this photo with a note: “Weather on Thanksgiving 2022 on the east coast was delightful, allowing my wife and I to see both sides of the family via General Aviation. For a special treat, LaGuardia Tower cleared us into the Bravo airspace to fly down the East River and see New York City from a different vantage point. Thanks to all those who worked on Thanksgiving to give us this privilege.”

It’s the gear that gets us

The truth is pilots can adopt procedures that, if followed, would prevent most gear-up events. We should, too. Fewer insurance claims result in lower insurance costs. Fewer gear-ups also means fewer runway closures. Everybody wins.
