Matt Guthmiller, well-known in general aviation for his popular YouTube channel and his around the world flight in a Bonanza when he was just 19, finds himself in a place he never thought he’d be: Co-starring in a hit television series on Disney Plus.

A well-attired trip back in time
Twice every year, the 1940s return to Boulder Municipal Airport (KBDU) in Colorado, an event that features fun and a lot of airplanes.
Old school flight training
To hear my flight instructor tell it, I was the most inept student he ever had. I heard these words repeatedly: “Why, oh why, do I always draw the worst students? Can’t you remember anything? How the hell did you get a diploma from an engineering college? Use the damn rudder pedals when you make a turn! Can’t you feel the plane slipping? How will I ever make a pilot out of you?”
Where’s Jamail? Back in college
Jamail Larkins, the FAA Ambassador for Aviation & Space Education, brings the DreamLaunch tour to Hampton University in Virginia.
Paper or plastic?
Is your logbook the heart and soul of your aviation life? And can that be adequately captured in a digital logbook?
A busy day in the hangar
Although it would have been a perfect day for flying, members of a Florida EAA chapter chose to stay ground bound to work on a variety of projects, including restoration of a C150, preparations for a new Sonex build, and much more.
Where’s Jamail? Delaware
“DreamLaunch may spark interest, but long-term development requires partners who help students grow beyond that first spark,” says Jamail Larkins.
More than just a runway
I encourage everyone to find a way to give back through aviation. As the saying goes, aviation is a small community, and your volunteer efforts, big or small, can leave a lasting impact on the next generation of aviators.
Where’s Jamail? Southern California
Jamail Larkins has been spreading the gospel of aviation since 2004 with his first DreamLaunch tour. We decided to catch up with him during the 2025 tour to see where’s he at and who he has been talking to.
