California pilot recognized with Young Eagles leadership award
The award, given every year during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, recognizes “exceptional Young Eagles volunteers that have continually supported the future of aviation by exceeding expectations,” according to Phillips 66 Aviation officials.

C-46 Tinker Belle finds new home
The city of Monroe, North Carolina, has sold its C-46, “The Tinker Belle,” to the non-profit Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Testing continues on DeltaHawk engine
With FAA type certification of its new DHK180 piston engine complete, DeltaHawk Engines is moving towards production, with initial deliveries of customer engines planned for the first half of 2024, company officials reported on the opening day of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023. One of the first aircraft expected to offer the engine as an option is the four-place model from Bearhawk Aircraft.
Cirrus launches new private pilot training program
The new Private Pilot Program provides ground school training partnered with a Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot (CSIP) through a Cirrus Training Center (CTC) to help students complete their private pilot certificate in a Cirrus aircraft.
