FlightFlix.aero has released the Nav Power Spacer, an experimental device designed to deliver continuous power to wing-mounted cameras.
Crafted from aviation-grade aluminum, the Nav Power Spacer is engineered to be sandwiched between the wingtip and your aircraft’s existing navigational lights.
The spacer eliminates the hassle of changing batteries mid-flight by delivering USB power directly to your camera, company officials explain.
“This product is all about simplicity and reliability,” said Nic Martinez, president of FlightFlix.aero. “Pilots told us they wanted longer camera battery operation without sacrificing aerodynamics or safety, and we delivered. The Nav Power Spacer is intended for use on experimental aircraft. For certified aircraft, FAA field approval is required, company officials noted.
