Redbird Flight has unveiled a redesign of the Alloy TH1, the company’s home flight simulation solution for single-engine aircraft with vernier-style throttle, propeller, and mixture (TPM) controls.
According to officials with the Austin, Texas-based company, the redesigned throttle quadrant offers several benefits, including:
- Smaller footprint: Measuring 11.25 inches long (14.13 inches including the TPM controls), 8.38 inches wide, and 2.06 inches high, the redesigned TH1 is more compact than the previous generation, shaving nearly 3 inches off the length and height and 5 inches off the width.
- More affordable: The new model retails at $699, a $100 discount to the previous generation TH1.
- Built-in go-around button: Customers can practice critical approach procedures and decision-making with the new go-around button.
Like previous versions of the throttle quadrant, the new model features the same vernier-style controls, a flaps switch, and USB port for plug-and-play compatibility with most flight simulation engines, including Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, and Lockheed Martin Prepar3d.
