BELLINGHAM, Washington — Six Pack Aero has received Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) to manufacture and sell its Legacy XL Stationary Panel Kit, an STC-approved replacement panel that allows for the installation of either a standard six pack or a 10-inch Primary Flight Display (PFD) without compromising the structure of the airframe.
The STC is for Cessna 172 models E through M.
Many PFDs have been approved for Cessna 172s in two common sizes, 7-inch and 10-inch. In Cessna 172 models produced before 1975, the 10-inch displays will not fit above the pilot side control yoke without modifying the structural stationary panel, which is considered a major modification, according to company officials.
“With the increase in affordable glass cockpit retrofit solutions for older aircraft, the Legacy XL Stationary Panel offers a solution to safely upgrade older aircraft not only for the avionics solutions of today but also for many years to come,” company officials noted.
The Legacy XL Stationary Panel Kit is available for purchase on Aircraft Spruce at the introductory price of $6,950.
