After two years of interruption due to the pandemic, Daher Aerospace brought its internship program back in 2022.
Begun 15 years ago, the company partners with the Experimental Aircraft Association to award two American students an internship at the company’s facility in Tarbes, France.
The 2022 scholarship recipients were Lauren Meyer, from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, a student in engineering and computer science from the University of Tennessee, and Anthony Garza, from San Antonio, Texas, who is studying aerospace engineering at Texas A&M University.
Both worked during five weeks in June and July at Daher’s facility in France, near the Pyrenees mountains. Meyer was integrated in the TBM Care team, working on new services for customers, while Garza was tasked with digitalizing the PT6 engine for the design office.
The two wrapped up their internships by working with the Daher team at the 2022 EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.
The internship covers all costs, including lodging and more, according to Daher officials.
