The first-ever Utah Aeronautics Conference will take off May 9-11, 2022, in Provo, Utah.
“As the only event of its kind in Utah, this premier conference will bring together over 500 aviation professionals, state and local officials, mechanics, engineers, planners, and industry leaders to improve safety networks, share best practices, and foster collaboration,” say officials with the Utah Aeronautics Division.
The conference will feature a variety of training sessions on Monday, May 9, from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. There are separate tracks for mechanics, pilots, airport managers, drones, and airport engineers. Several of the tracks provide continuing education credits, including AMT and WINGS, officials noted.
Training sessions for mechanics include doctoring maintenance, a Lycoming engine teardown demonstration, and a review of the new Part 147 testing standards.
Training sessions for pilots include mountain flying, controlled flight into terrain, and inadvertent IMC.
The $325 registration fee provides full access to the three-day conference, including the trainings, 50 breakout sessions, keynote speakers, and networking opportunities, officials noted.
A Career Fair for students also will be held May 9. A discounted student rate of $35 gains entry to the Career Fair, while $50 gives you access to the entire conference.
