EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — EAA AeroEducate, a new program that opens a wide spectrum of possibilities for young people interested in aviation, was launched July 26, 2021, at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, initiating an interactive and educational experience for young people ages 5 to 18 years old.
AeroEducate’s web-based resource provides age-appropriate pathways for kids to engage in aviation and aerospace, including careers in aviation, even career paths. A multitude of easy-to-use aviation-themed activities are available for youth, as well as for teachers and EAA chapters. Beta testing of the new program has begun.
“AeroEducate takes the best elements of EAA’s successful youth engagement programs and adds online access for youth, their parents, and their teachers,” said Jack J. Pelton, EAA CEO and Chairman of the Board. “In addition, comprehensive programs from top companies worldwide lift the potential of the program even higher with access to resources in aviation, engineering, business, and more.”
Companies involved include:
- United Airlines and its Aviate pilot development program;
- Siemens Digital Industries, which will help create pathways into the world of aviation and aerospace engineering;
- Airbus, which will help inspire young people to pursue business-focused careers in the aviation and aerospace industry, EAA officials explained.
“There are countless opportunities available in the world of flight, even those that we right now cannot even imagine,” Pelton said. “AeroEducate unlocks the potential that can be combined through many top-quality programs and delivery methods to provide the best possible resources for young people and how they learn and discover their personal futures.”
