2020 WINGS Sweepstakes winners named

By General Aviation News Staff · February 18, 2021 ·

The winners of the 2020 Paul and Fran Burger $10,000 WINGS Sweepstakes have been named, with 10 flight instructors and pilots winning cash prizes ranging from $500 to $1,500.

In its third year, the WINGS sweepstakes has garnered strong support from the FAA, the industry and “individuals dedicated to GA safety,” officials note.

The sweepstakes is designed to encourage pilots to take advantage of the resources of the FAA’s WINGS Pilot Proficiency Program. For every WINGS phase a pilot completes, they get one entry into the sweepstakes.

The 2020 winners are:

  • Christian Chandler, Massachusetts
  • Nicholas Maliniak, Virginia
  • Mitchell Crocker, Florida
  • Adam Rosenberg, North Carolina
  • Andrew Dow, Illinois
  • Victoria Stevens, Oklahoma
  • Richard Funcheon, Florida
  • Kuan Tung Chen, Florida
  • Victoria Kuo, Rhode Island
  • Ed Whitehead, Arizona

The $10,000 Sweepstakes will continue, however it will offer new ways to win beginning in 2021, according to officials.
