In any other year, this upcoming weekend would see aviation’s annual pilgrimage to the Reno Air Races.
This year’s event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but you can still get your air racing fix this weekend, albeit on Facebook rather than in real life.
“We know our air race fans are disappointed with the cancellation of the 2020 STIHL National Championship Air Races,” organizers said. “We feel your pain, which is why we have put together a special digital race weekend showcasing the 2018 and 2019 races, plus special features and interviews with some of our pilots.”
You can see all the action on Facebook Sept. 19-20, 2020. Tentative start time is 9 a.m. PDT both days, according to organizers.
