The Pilot Briefing, a weekly podcast from Jennifer Non at the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, just hit a milestone: 100,000 unique downloads.
The podcast launched July 1, 2019, and reached the milestone on Aug. 17, 2020, Jennifer reports.
Now in its second season — with Episode 34 released Aug. 24 — the podcast gives a summary of the top five aviation-related news stories for the week. The podcast is free to everyone — you don’t have to be a member of AOPA to access it.
“I try to focus on the big issues that come out of Washington and the FAA, as well as the big wins we see on the local and regional level,” Jennifer explains.
“The Pilot Briefing is great for anyone who enjoys being in the know,” she continues. “It’s a quick recap of the week’s top general aviation news stories, so you know what’s going on throughout the industry, in under five minutes.”
“I believe, now more than ever, while many of us are working from home and consuming a lot of news and information online, it’s critical to get clear and concise information, quickly. I’d like to believe the Pilot Briefing Podcast helps more people do that, in an upbeat and entertaining way.”
A former traffic reporter, with a radio and TV news background, Jennifer produces, voices, and edits the podcast.
But she’s quick to add that the podcast has been a “team effort through the support I have received from many colleagues.”
The Pilot Briefing can be accessed on Amazon’s home device by saying “Alexa, play the Pilot Briefing on Tune-In.” You can also stream it through Spotify, iTunes, Apple Podcasts, and usually wherever podcasts are played. You can also stream it online through the AOPA website and on the AOPA app.
