MT-Propeller has received an EASA STC for the installation of its Quiet Fan Jet composite propeller on Air Tractor airplanes.
The STC is for the Air Tractor AT-600 and AT-800 Series models, including AT-802 and AT-802A, powered by a Pratt & Whitney PT6A-65 or PT6A-67 Propeller turbine.
The FAA STC is in progress, company officials note.
According to MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht, the installation features:
- Takeoff improves by 5%
- TBO 4,000 hours or six years, whatever comes first
- No intermediate inspections are needed between the TBO
- No rpm restriction for the complete operational range
- ROC improved by 8% (Aerial Surveillance Configuration)
The MT-Propeller natural composite blades have no life limitation and are repairable in case of FOD.
They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for erosion protection of the blades, company officials said.
