On June 4, the first Mooney Ovation Ultra made its maiden flight.
Mooney Chief Test Pilot Mike Miles made an approximate 60 minute flight from Runway 30 at Kerrville Municipal Airport/Louis Schreiner Field (KERV).
The Ovation Ultra Serial Number 32-0001 is a fully FAA conforming certification aircraft, according to company officials. The airplane will continue test flying and will soon be painted, officials add.
The Ovation Ultra and the new Mooney Acclaim will both be on display at Mooney’s exhibit at Oshkosh later this month. AirVenture is slated from July 25-31.
