Raffle tickets are still available for the chance to fly a P-51 Mustang at Stallion 51 in Florida.
The fundraiser will benefit Mercy Flight Southeast, which provides free air transportation to far-from-home medical appointments for adults and children using a network of volunteer pilots.
While pilots donate their airplanes, fuel and flight hours to complete thousands of flights year after year, the non-profit organization relies on donations and fundraising to pay for support services and to keep passengers and pilots in the air, officials explained.
The P-51 Mustang Experience raffle prize includes a one-hour dual-cockpit orientation flight at Stallion 51’s headquarters in Kissimmee, Florida. The experience includes a pre-flight briefing, cockpit orientation, hands-on flight, post-flight briefing, flight video, photo with pilot and an aircraft and flight certificate.
Raffle tickets are $20 each and the prize includes round trip airfare up to $500 to Orlando.
The winner will be announced April 10 during the annual SUN ‘n FUN International Fly-in and Expo held at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport. The winner does not need to be present to win.
