GT Propellers of Riccione, Italy, has introduced a line of propellers engineered for all types of homebuilt and sports aircraft, including STOL, racing, and aerobatic applications.
The EASA-certified company, which has been in business since 1969, has produced propellers that have been used in aircraft that range from 30 to 2,000 horsepower. Its research and development program is now close to completing development of a new range of propellers designed to complement Lycoming and Continental engines.
GT Propellers has chosen the RV community to introduce its new line. Developed for aircraft ranging from 150 to 260 horsepower, various sizes can be produced ranging from 66 inches to 68 inches. The propellers weigh about 24 pounds, which helps homebuilders increase their payload, company officials note.
The assembly includes:
- Monolithic three blade hub constructed from CNC aerospace alloy.
- Low inertia, high-safety, wood and composite blade.
- Spacer suitable for SAE 1 or SAE 2, sized 2.25 inches.
- 13-inch composite spinner.
- Pitch selection tool.
A two blade version is now in development for the RV range or any similar aircraft that produces between 150 to 260 horsepower, company officials add.
