Dallas Airmotive donates $10,000 to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital

By General Aviation News Staff · September 4, 2014 ·

Dallas Airmotive recently donated $10,000 to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC), located in downtown Dallas, to support children with orthopedic, neurological and learning disorders.

“We first learned about the great work done at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children through participation in the Dallas Marathon,” stated Doug Meador, President, Dallas Airmotive.

He said employees have been involved for the last three years.

“Last year we had several teams of Dallas Airmotive employees participate in the corporate relay and, even though we were iced out, we were able raise more than $10,000 through employee and corporate participation and fundraising efforts.”

DALLAS airmotiveMeador also explained that this year the company wanted to do more for the organization, so employees nominated TSRHC to be part of the BBA Aviation’s Charitable Giving program. After careful consideration, the hospital was chosen to receive a $10,000 donation.

The Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children provides medical care for children with specific disabilities regardless of the family’s ability to pay. TSRHC treats children with diseases such as scoliosis, clubfoot, hand disorders, hip disorders and limb length differences, as well as certain related neurological disorders and learning disorders, such as dyslexia.

The hospital is open to any child from birth to the age of 18; no child will ever be turned away because of financial difficulty. Since its inception, the hospital has treated almost 250,000 children from across the region.
