Think Global Flight wins award

By General Aviation News Staff · April 26, 2014 ·

Aviation Bright Futures Foundation recently honored Captain Judy Rice, founder of Think Global Flight with the “Making a Difference Award-Aviation Education Category” in recognition for her lifetime dedication toward promoting aviation education.

Chairman Bob Raskey, commented, “When the Aviation Bright Futures Foundation Board heard about Think Global Flight and Capt Judy’s efforts, our vote was unanimous.”

The Aviation Bright Futures Foundation mission statement, “Providing Reality to the Dreams of our Next Generation of Aviators,” was established in 2013 to provide solutions to the challenging requirements for those pursuing a career in the aviation and aerospace industry.

Think Global Flight recognizes the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education to those seeking aerospace careers. The flight by Captain Judy and Navigator Fred Nauer is designed to increase the number of students across the globe interested in and inspired by aviation and aerospace. These students will follow the crew on their world-wide aviation journey. Astronaut Dr. Buzz Aldrin joined the crew on the official launch from SUN ‘n FUN on April 3.

Currently over 20,000 students in 25 countries and 31 U.S. states are following the flight on the Think Global Flight App.
