FRANKFORT, Ky. – High school senior Victoria “Tori” Williams has been awarded a 2013 Fly Now scholarship from the Ninety-Nines‘ Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Williams, who is in the Institute for Aerospace Education, will be provided the funds as she reaches milestones in her private pilot training. With her FAA Written Exam, solo, and short cross-country already completed, she will receive the first of her monetary support after she completes her long cross-country.
Tori works closely with The Institute as student representative on the board of directors. She has been a member of the Kentucky Bluegrass chapter of the Ninety-Nines since 2012 and has met many accomplished female pilots who have encouraged her on her pathway to becoming a professional pilot. She said their support and advice has helped her during several tough spots in her training.
After graduating high school and receiving her private pilot license, Tori plans to attend Eastern Kentucky University’s professional flight program in fall of 2014.
