SHREVEPORT, La. — Metro Aviation is already expanding its 12,000-square-foot training center, which was just completed in February, to allow for more expansive training capabilities. Metro is nearly doubling the space of its facility, according to officials.
One new addition is a dedicated maintenance overhaul classroom with concrete floors and workbenches.
Metro is currently hosting Turbomeca factory maintenance classes and Pratt & Whitney factory maintenance training through FlightSafety.
“There is so much that we hope to accomplish here,” said Terry Palmer, Director of Training for Metro Aviation. “We are excited to help our customers and other operators develop safety programs suited for their specific needs.”
The next scheduled class is a five-day course for the PW206/207 beginning Oct. 28.
Metro Aviation is a worldwide provider of completion services for all missions and types of helicopters and specializes in the EC135 and EC145 with several Supplemental Type Certificates (STC). It is an FAA approved repair station, approved Eurocopter Service Center and FAR Part 135 air medical operations provider at several locations across the United States.
