Hoffman Engineering has received FAA TSO authorization of its LED standard and dual mode aircraft navigation and position lights.
The standard lights are functional for daytime operations, while the dual-mode versions feature covert lighting for use with night vision devices during night operations, company officials said. The statement of conformance under TSO-C30c Type I, II, and III, includes both navigation and position lighting for civil and military fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
The newly designed and approved lighting applications offer long life LED lamps, lightweight characteristics and low power requirements, according to company officials. Designed to MIL-L-6503, and meeting the requirements of SAE AS8037 and SAE ARP5825 (dual mode), these ruggedized navigation and position lights are available immediately. Original equipment aircraft external lighting can be replaced with the new Hoffman Engineering lighting equipment, company officials note.
