PilotMall.com and Air Journey to fly relief mission to Bahamas

By Janice Wood · August 30, 2011 ·

PilotMall.com will team up with Air Journey on a relief mission to the Islands of the Bahamas in an effort to bring supplies and much needed aid to the region in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.

The two companie are currently collecting supplies in preparation for their mission.

The trip leaves Wednesday, Aug. 31, delivering much needed supplies, including tarps, easy/no-prep foods, water, flashlights, medical kits, batteries, and other urgent supplies in response to devastation left behind by last week’s hurricane, according to company officials. Getting organized quickly and securing the most important supplies is pivotal to this joint missions success, especially considering the geographic locations hit hardest by Hurricane Irene, officials add.

“We can’t afford to waste time waiting for the citizens of these devastated territories to ask for help,” said PilotMall.com President Neil Glazer. “Instead we’ll be flying out the most needed supplies in an effort to prevent more suffering and assist with cleanup. It’ll be great working with Air Journey because their knowledge of the Bahamas and the Caribbean is unparalleled.”

“This is a great opportunity for us to help those in need,” said Air Journey President Thierry Pouille. “By combining our efforts with PilotMall.com Aviation Superstore, we’ll be able to provide an even more significant and timely shipment of food and supplies due to our diverse network and aviation industry experience.”

PilotMall.com Inc. is a specialized full-service aviation retailer offering more than 4,000 aviation products. For the past 14 years, Air Journey has been organizing and leading escorted flying adventures to the Bahamas and the Caribbean, Canada, Europe, The Americas and Around the World.
