Piper Aircraft will exhibit its product line and a mockup of its new PiperJet Altaire at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2011, July 25-31. In addition, new Piper Archer owner and first Ready Set Fly pilot training participant Jon Roberts plans to attend the world’s largest gathering of general aviation enthusiasts to discuss his decision to learn to fly in his new Archer.
The lineup of aircraft on static display this year includes Piper’s M-Class series – the turboprop Meridian and piston-powered Mirage and Matrix – and a special multi-engine Seminole LX and the single-engine Archer LX, Piper Executive VP Randy Groom said.
Planning to attend the show sometime during the event is Jon Roberts of East Greenwich, R.I., the first person to enter Piper’s Ready Set Fly pilot training program, which came at no extra charge with his purchase of a 180-hp Piper Archer LX. He is undertaking his flight training with Shoreline Aviation Inc., Columbia Aircraft Sale’s Piper affiliate at Marshfield Airport (GHG) George Harlow Field in Marshfield, Mass. Roberts, an executive in the pharmacy industry, plans to step up to a 350-horsepower Matrix within the next 18 months once his private and instrument training are complete.
“The custom Ready Set Fly program covers individualized pilot training for new Archer owners and enables them, in as little as three weeks, to go from zero time to completion of their private pilot training safely, professionally and efficiently in their own aircraft,” Groom said.
