Sierra Industries‘ hangar #4 was completed in early June at Garner Field Airport in Uvalde, Texas, and is already at work, housing multiple aircraft undergoing maintenance and modifications.
Since ground breaking at the end of January, the addition has been erected in record time, company officials said. The new hangar is both wider and taller than any of Sierra’s three previous hangars, allowing room for maintenance, repairs and upgrades to a wider variety of aircraft, including mid-sized Citation X, Hawker 400 and 800, and Falcon 50 model business jets.
The Hangar 4 project spearheads a variety of upgrades to the remainder of Sierra’s facilities, including new energy-efficient lighting and air conditioning, improved insulation and reflective roof paint to help minimize the effects of Texas’ summer sunshine on utility expenses. Also included in the new hangar expansion is a substantial increase in office space.
