This year as part of the annual “Green Skills for Life” competition, the San Diego Air & Space Museum (SDASM) and Ford Motor Company Fund asked San Diego County students the following question: What is one change or action you think you and others could do in your everyday lives in order to make the world a greener place? They could submit their entries as either artwork or a short video. From hundreds of entries, four winners each received a $1,000 scholarship from the Ford Motor Company Fund.
“We’re delighted to continue our multi-year partnership with Ford Motor Company Fund,” said Jim Kidrick, museum president. “We’re reaching more students than ever before, allowing them to showcase their incredible art and film-making skills, and sharing important messages about the environment, all at once.”
Congratulations to the following winners:
Art Winners: Sebastian Razo, 7, from Oceanside, suggests everyone should ride the train or other public transportation to make the world a greener place; Tori Parker, 15, from El Cajon, knows the importance of trees for a green planet and thinks everyone should plant a tree.
Video Winners: Timothy Daly, 12, from San Diego, is starting a school garden to help his fellow classmates learn how growing their own food will make them healthier, smarter, and greener; Adam Hersko-RonaTas, 15, from San Diego, provided some great tips on how to weatherize your home and save not only the planet but money as well.
