The Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum in Titusville, Florida, will hold its 34th annual airshow March 11-13. This year’s show will be dedicated to the memory of The Flying Tigers, and the 70th anniversary of their first combat mission in China.
Some 75 vintage aircraft are expected to be on display and flying in the show, including such great warbirds as the B-25 Mitchell, P-51 Mustang, P-40 Warhawk, F-104 Starfighter, F-8 Crusader, Grumman Wildcat, Avenger, F-4U Corsair and more, according to officials.
Honored guests will be several of the original “Flying Tigers” who belonged to not only the American Volunteer Group (AVG), but also the 14th Air Force, who served during the war to support and defend the Chinese people.
The show will also feature modern military jets flying and World War II re-enactors fighting mock battles, as well as vendors, exhibits and displays. The museum will offer rides in its vintage C-47 that flew in the Normandy invasion. There will be helicopter and bi-plane rides as well.
Gates open at 8:30 a.m. and the airshow starts at 1 p.m.
