Flight Design USA is offering factory-approved courses for their dealers and non-affiliated mechanics who are asked to perform maintenance on the Flight Design CT Light Sport Aircraft. Owners may also attend the classes.
“We still have space available in the Flight Design CT maintenance classes being offered this fall,” said John Gilmore, national sales manager for Flight Design USA. “Offerings start with a Basic Composite Class where you learn techniques for repair of Flight Design airframes; this class has been offered on a two-year cycle.”
Mechanics completing the Advanced CT Composite Repair Class will receive authorization to do heavy, complex composite repairs. “This will allow graduates to service all Flight Design composite aircraft, including both the CTsw and CTLS,” Gilmore said.
The Advance Class is offered every four years. Germany-based Flight Design Technik will travel to Florida to teach all the composite classes. All classes are conducted at Lockwood Repair in Sebring, Florida (about two hours south of Orlando).
The schedule and fees are:
- Nov. 1-4, CT Airframe Maintenance Training – Cost: $800
- Nov. 5-6 Rotax Aircraft Engine Service – Cost: $450
- Nov. 8-9 CT Basic Composite Training – Cost: $650
- Nov. 10-11 Rotax Aircraft Engine Maintenance – Cost: $450
- Nov. 12-13, 15 CT Advanced Composite Repair – Cost: $700
Individuals attending the Airframe Class and at least one of the other classes will receive a $100 discount. Those attending the Airframe class and at least two of the other classes can earn a $200 discount.
