Sun ‘n Fun Radio streaming live

By Janice Wood · April 13, 2010 ·

Can’t make it to Sun ‘n Fun this week? You can listen in to the show via Sun ‘n Fun Radio, which is being audio streamed over the Internet, thanks to a partnership with LiveATC.net.

Listeners all over the world will be able to go to the Sun ‘n Fun website or the LiveATC.net website, click on a link and listen to Sun ‘n Fun Radio live. And, thanks to LiveATC.net’s mobile version (m.liveatc.net) and its iPhone app, you won’t have to be at your computer to listen — any Internet-capable mobile device will be able to tune in.

Sun ‘n Fun Radio’s volunteer chairman Dave Shallbetter, who works throughout the year to provide content for Sun ‘n Fun Radio listeners, said, “Audio steaming Sun ‘n Radio has been a dream of mine for many years. This partnership is yet another example of Sun ‘n Fun and Sun ‘n Fun Radio’s commitment to share the love of aviation and to share our event with people worldwide. I look forward to working with Dave Pascoe, LiveAC.net’s founder.” (You also can follow Sun ‘n Fun Radio on Twitter- @SnFRadio)

The partnership agreement has Sun ‘n Fun Radio’s volunteers providing LiveATC.net with four different audio streams: the Sun ‘n Fun Radio content, and three of the Air Traffic Control frequencies from Lakeland Linder Regional Airport (LAL), where the fly-in is located.

Dave Pascoe, an IFR-rated pilot and aviation enthusiast, founded LiveATC.net in 2003. LiveATC.net started by broadcasting communications from the Boston Logan (BOS) and JFK airports, and since then has grown to cover airports in all corners of the world.
