Duncan Aviation and Bendix/King by Honeywell have signed an agreement that gives Duncan Aviation exclusive rights to sell and service Honeywell’s Portable Cockpit Information system, the AV8OR Horizon 3D.
A portable Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) with 3D Synthetic Vision and IFR approach plates, the AV8OR Horizon 3D generates and displays 3D imagery, showing a cockpit-like view regardless of external conditions. With optional NEXRAD satellite weather and 3D traffic detection, the system has been developed by pilots, for pilots, as a cost-effective solution to improve flight safety, according to company officials.
On the ground, the AV8OR system can be used as a Tablet PC, running Microsoft Windows-based aviation software that allows the user to plan a route, download weather forecasts, save flight plans, and more.
