SHD joins Avfuel network

By Janice Wood · February 18, 2010 ·

Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport (SHD) in Weyers Cave, Va., has become an Avfuel-branded dealer that offers the AVTRIP rewards program and the Avfuel Contract Fuel program for jet fuel savings.

SHD is a vital component to the economic development of the central Shenandoah Valley, providing easy access to numerous major industries and distribution centers, according to Avfuel officials, adding its  location just outside the Washington Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) makes it a good stop for general aviation traffic traveling along the east coast.

ShenandoahThe newly remodeled Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport general aviation facility offers flight planning with WSI, phone/data lines, a pilot lounge and sleep room, a pilot kitchen, a conference room, and more. Crew cars are available with fuel purchase, and complimentary beverages, ice and more are available in the pilot kitchen. Full ground services are available as are concierge services for catering, rental cars and hotel. There is also a shuttle to and from the airport and surrounding areas.

The runway was repaved in 2009, which followed a major overhaul of the GA terminal in 2005. The airport is also undergoing an apron repaving, set to be completed in 2010.
