The massive snowstorm that has crippled the Eastern seaboard led to the roofs of hangars collapsing at two different airports.
One of the collapses happened at Manassas Regional Airport, according to a report at NBCWashington.com, which noted there were no people or planes in the building, and no one was injured. The 24,000-square-foot hanger is owned by Dulles Aviation, Inc.
The same day, the roof of the Dulles Jet Center at Dulles International Airport collapsed, damaging several bizjets, including two Bombardier Global Express jets and a Gulfstream 550. The building has been condemned, according to news reports.
The storm has shut down the area, with airports, the headquarters of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association in Frederick, Md., and government offices in Washington, D.C., closed.
