The 1940 Air Terminal Museum at Hobby Airport in Houston is celebrating the 100-year anniversary of the first airplane flight in Texas with a new exhibit chronicling Louis Paulhan’s Feb, 18, 1910, flight near Houston.
Paulhan arrived in Houston with four planes and not only gave the city its first look at airplane flight, but also began its storied history with air travel. More than 2,500 people traveled to a field south of Houston that day and paid $1 each to witness Paulhan fly for 15 minutes at a time.
The new exhibit opens Feb. 18.
