The Colling’s Foundations “Wings of Freedom Tour” returns to the Wing of Dreams Air Show, Feb. 19-22, for the fourth consecutive year.
“The Wings of Dreams Air Show will honor heroes who served and defended freedom in World War II,” said Bob Oehl, co-founder of the Wings of Dreams Aviation Museum and the annual air show at Keystone Heights Airport (42J) in Florida.
The tour features the B-17 Flying Fortress, B-25 Mitchell, the only flying B-24 Liberator and the TP-51C Mustang. All will be available for walk-through tours and rides for a tax-deductible donation. Training flights also are available in the Mustang and B-25.
The Wings of Dreams Air Show offers the opportunity to meet and attend symposiums featuring four fighter aces of World War II; eight Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP), who will soon be awarded the Congressional Gold Medal; a panel of four Iwo Jima survivors; and World War II combat airmen, who will share war stories and display their memorabilia and artifacts.
The air show will also offer aerial performances by the USAF A-10 flight demonstration team and aerobatic pilots; historical and aviation displays; youth aviation and World War II history activities; and a Big Band Hangar Dinner/Dance on Saturday night.
