More than 80 universities with aviation programs participated in the National Intercollegiate Flying Association’s (NIFA) Safety and Flight Evaluation Conference (SAFECON) held at Parks College of St. Louis University, Cahokia, Ill., May 17-23.
Delta Connection Academy’s Brent Knoblauch ranked 1st place both in the CFI and Ground Trainer events. Knoblauch is currently a Delta Connection Academy flight instructor with the Jacksonville University (JU) aviation program. He and teammate Brian Rendini earned second place in the Crew Resource Management event. Rendini also captured eighth place in the Aircraft Recognition event. Overall the JU Flight Team placed 14th in the competition and 9th in ground events.
